The story
Akiane has said that the portrait grew from recurring childhood visions and a long search for the face she remembered. When a carpenter visited her family, she believed she had found the model she had been looking for. She completed the oil painting at age eight.
The original later remained outside her possession and out of public view for many years. Akiane saw it again sixteen years later. It is now on view at Belóved Gallery in Marble Falls, Texas.
Choosing a format
Each format presents the same image differently. Choose according to where it will live, how you prefer it finished, and whether signing or hand-applied detail matters to you.
