Battle
The painting “Battle” had the most unusual development. At the beginning, the female being whom I saw in my visionary meditation was without any covering at all. She was completely exposed and bare, and I had absolutely no idea who she was or why she was there. As I was finishing up the features, I noticed huge wings around her. But even though my recollection of angels had incredible energy shield-veil-like wings, the more I layered the canvas, the faster the background became filled with feathery wings. Then something even more unusual happened: the more details were completed, the faster they seemed to disappear, as if something or someone was ripping the feathery wings apart.
I did not comprehend the meaning of this imagery nor process, but as I was struggling to finalize the painting, I had an immense impulse to depict a spear in her hands. The attack and the destruction were violently pulsing with every brushstroke until the spear vanished, and the enigmatic portrait of defense and perseverance was finally finished.
Even today, after a decade and many years of living around the world, I do not know who she is. To this day, it is a mystery. Is she a human becoming an angel or an angel becoming a human? Is she an angel and a human as one? Or is she a devoted angel in an inter-dimensional battle against an army of fallen angels? Only she knows…
